Light Fighter

Given their relatively low armor and simple weapons systems, light fighters serve best as support ships in battle. Their agility and speed, paired with the number in which they often appear, can provide a shield-like buffer for bigger ships that are not quite as maneuverable. Light Fighters are the fodder of OGame. Top players build this ship en masse or in huge numbers compared to the number of the rest of their fleet.

Evaluation

Uses and Advantages

Light Fighters are used to shield the more expensive ships, and also make up the lion's share of fleetcrashing fleets or moonshots.

Shortcomings

Cruisers have rapid fire against light fighters, and can eliminate them fairly easily. They will never beat a large shield dome unless their weapons technology is 11 levels or more higher than the defender's shielding technology and Death Stars are completely immune to Light Fighters.
